What is a “WaterBOB”?

During a hurricane or tropical storm, water main breaks and storm surges can interrupt or contaminate the public water supply.  Without clean water for drinking or sanitation, conditions can be life threatening.

We’ve all heard that we should fill our bathtubs with water before a storm.  However, most bathtubs have dirt and/or soap film that would contaminate fresh water.  In addition, debris and other items could fall into the water, spoiling the water and making it useless.

The WaterBOB– holds up to 100 gallons of fresh drinking water in any standard bathtub in the event of an emergency.  Constructed of heavy duty food grade plastic, it is FDA compliant for food storage, and keeps water fresh and clean for up to 4 weeks.

It’s very easy to use.  Simply lay the WaterBOB liner in your bathtub, hook it up to the faucet and fill.  A Siphon pump is included to easily dispense the water into jugs or pitchers.  You won’t have to wait in line again to buy bottled water.

Other uses for the WaterBOB include RVs and campers for storage and for homes and cabins in remote areas where it is hard to find fresh water.

The chapter will now have the WaterBOB available for $35.00    A portion of the sale price will help support the local Red Cross programs and emergency services.  Contact your local Red Cross office or call toll free at 1-866-245-9180.
