Mission of the American Red Cross The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to individuals of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. It does this through services that are consistent with its congressional charter and the fundamentals principles of the International Red Cross Movement.
During a disaster families need reassurance that their loved ones are safe and well. By registering on the "Safe and Well" webpage, people affected by a disaster can post messages that their loved ones outside the disaster area can view. Registering yourself on the Safe and Well Website is entirely voluntary. You may also update your entry at any time.
When Second Harvest Food Bank sent out a request to community agencies to help replenish their food supply, the Chapter employees saw an opportunity to aid a partner agency. Volunteers decorated holiday boxes and brought in non-perishable items. Pictured are volunteers Hal Gerow and Bob Fiske as they load the Emergency Response Vehicle to carry the collected items.
